Sri Lanka U19 defeated Bangladesh U19 by 27 runs in the fifth of the 6-match ODI series yesterday at the SSC Grounds for their second win to the visitors 3 to bringing the series to a head with all to play for to levelling it in the decisive final face off on Thursday the 8th at the same venue.

Batting first, Sri Lanka ran up 196 in 42.3 overs and dismissed Bangladesh for 169 in 45 overs.
The Lankans chief run getters were Aadhan Hilmy 51 off 59 hitting 7 boundaries and a six, and skipper Vimath Dinsara 42 off 47 inclusive of 5 boundaries.

Samiun Basir 3 for 35 and Rissan Hossain 2 for 30 were Bangladesh’s main wicket takers.

The Lankan threesome of Viran Chamuditha 3 for 26, Kugathas Mathulan 3 for 26, Tharusha Navodya 2 for 30 ran through the Bangladesh innings which revolved around Samiun Basir’s 37, Md Abdullah 32, Farid Hasan not out 30, Rizan Hossain 25 and Debasish Deba 24.
