Sri Lanka were in box seat control of the one off Unofficial Youth Test match against Afghanistan A who were 71 for 3 chasing a mammoth 544 for victory into the third day’s play at Abu Dhabi’s Al Zayed Cricket Stadium on Thursday.

Sri Lanka’s control of the game was on the back of a first innings 406 topped by Sonal Dinusha’s unbeaten 100 upon which Afghanistan was routed for 168 on a 6-wicket haul by Isith Wijesundera for 35 runs and Thatindu Rathnayake 3 for 26.

The Lankans went on a second innings rampage 376 for 4 declared on unbeaten century by skipper Pasindu Sooriyabandara 104 and Lahiru Udara 107 to setting the tone for a victory thrust.

Afghanistan tripped once again losing three wickets for 73 with their main hope skipper Darwish Rasooli on 40 and Afsar Zasai 13 following a 2 wicket strike by Asith Wijesundera for 25 and Wanuja Sahan 1 for 30.
